Most Significant Change workshop by CARE Zimbabwe, Monitoring and Evaluation
On 31 July CARE had a half day workshop presenting Most Significant Change stories containing 15 stories selected from a total of 31 stories collected during fieldwork. The stories cover a variety of interventions that CARE is implementing in Zaka, Masvingo urban and Rural and Gweru Urban Districts. The interventions covered by the stories are: HBC, CF, Food distribution, LIG, Micro-finance, water and sanitation and income generating activities (oil pressing and peanut butter making). Almost all the story-tellers did not benefit from one intervention but from an integrated programme. One story-teller could be involved in all the above projects but they would single out one most-significant change coming from a particular intervention.

Focus on Bikita District
In Bikita district about 200 lead farmers mainly vulnerable farmers without cattle or donkey implemented conservation farming “chihovo” as it is popularly known in the district during this season (2007/2008).... more

Gutu Care Facilitators given Care-Givers kits
On 14 November CARE International in Zimbabwe distributed 108 kits to Care facilitators in Gutu that were donated to CARE by World Vision.
The function was held at District AIDS Action Committee (DAAC) offices and was attended by CARE Country Director Mr Stephen Gwynne-Vaughan, Gutu District Administrator - Mr Mutingwina, Gutu District Aids Co-ordinator Mrs Manyira, Mr Maridza of Social Welfare, Care facilitators, CARE Zimbabwe staff among others.... more

CARE Zimbabwe commemorates World Aids Day
CARE International in Zimbabwe commemorated the World AIDS Day as from the 30th of November to the first week of December 2007 in different CARE Offices throughout the country. The theme for this year’s commemoration is “Let’s all take lead in HIV and AIDS prevention and CARE. Stop AIDS. Keep the promise. The Emphasis is on Leaders being role models. Each CARE office had the liberty of discussing any topic on that day as long it related to this year’s theme.... more
