CARE Zimbabwe is excited to kick off two projects empowering communities to tackle climate change and food insecurity in Masvingo.
π.πππππππ ππ«π¨π£πππ: Supporting 193 000people, with a focus on women, youth, and marginalized groups. Initiatives include climate resilience, ecosystem conservation, and sustainable livelihoods. We are collaborating with government agencies, NGOs, and UN bodies, including UNDP and FAO, the European Union, and the Embassy of Ireland, to create lasting change in disaster-prone areas. The project will be implemented by Cesvi Zimbabwe in Beitbridge, Mwenezi Development Training Centre in Mwenezi, Gonarezhou Conservancy Trust in Chiredzi and CARE Zimbabwe as the lead partner.
π. πππ ππ«π¨π£πππ: Empowering 10 000 smallholder farmers in Chivi and Mwenezi to embrace climate-smart agriculture, adopt improved seed varieties, and utilize post-harvest technologies to strengthen food security. Supported by the Japan Supplementary Budget and United Nations Development Programme – UNDP (UNDP), this initiative also focuses on building skills and capacities for both on-farm and off-farm activities, creating sustainable income-generating opportunitiesβespecially for #women and #youth.
Together with partners we are building a resilient and sustainable future for communities in Masvingo.
