
DriDr. Nelson Chanza is an expert in climate-smart agriculture, a research fellow, and an active scholar with over 20 years of experience in climate change, environmental management, disaster management, rural and urban planning, geography, and development studies. He has authored or co-authored a total of 44 publications, including 19 journal articles, 14 book chapters, 2 policy briefs, among others. Dr. Chanza has actively participated in numerous local and international consultancies, including his role as a co-author of the National Climate Policy, which is currently under review. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for Environmental Management. Currently, he is working for the United Nations Development Program Green Climate Fund project, where he supports the implementation and development of packages for resilient agriculture and livelihoods. Dr. Chanza holds a Doctorate Degree in Environmental Geography, a Master’s Degree in Environmental Policy and Planning, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences. Additionally, he has obtained various certificates in development studies, climate change, and urban planning.
